“Shaney Marie is a transformational leader in the realm of erotic mysteries. With an extensive resume in erotic dance, contemporary tantra, and facilitation, Shaney teaches about the power of sexual majesty through alchemy, ritual, and creativity. She believes that every person has a magic portal into their unique erotic depth’s and that our sexualities hold great wisdom’s on our spiritual pathways to freedom. Shaney has an ability to shine the dark light onto anyone she works with to reveal their soul and bodies deep yearnings for something more.”

She dreams of a world not burdened by fear and sexual shame where people understand that sexual energy is one of the most powerful forces to integrate in themselves. Shaney believes that eroticism is a form of activism because people who are awake sexually and sacredly are more free, loving and liberated; and with a greater capacity to dance to their own beat in a world that demands conformity. Her ethos is to live a life of deep pleasure and authenticity, while also embracing a willingness to descend into the powers of the dark and its gifts.

“Women are not victims in strip clubs… Men are playing power games and women are playing power games. They are both equally playing out the game. To say it’s degrading really determines how you feel about that and what your relationship to the game of power in those places are.”

RECOMMENDED BOOKS

  • Sexual Personae: Art and Decadence from Nefertiti to Emily Dickinson by Camille Paglia — In this brilliantly original book, Camille Paglia identifies some of the major patterns that have endured in western culture from ancient Egypt and Greece to the present. According to Paglia, one source of continuity is paganism, which, undefeated by Judeo-Christianity, continues to flourish in art, eroticism, astrology, and pop culture. Others, she says, are androgyny, sadism, and the aggressive western eye, which has created our art and cinema. Paglia follows these and other themes from Nefertiti and the Venus of Willendorf to Apollo and Dionysus, from Botticelli and Michaelangelo to Shakespeare and Blake and finally to Emily Dickinson, who, along with other major nineteenth-century authors, becomes a remarkable example of Romanticism turned into Decadence.
  • Buddhist Goddesses of India by Miranda Shaw — The Indian Buddhist world abounds with goddesses―graceful nature divinities, maternal nurturers, potent healers, mighty protectors, transcendent wisdom figures, cosmic mothers of liberation, and dancing female Buddhas. Despite their importance in Buddhist thought and practice, female deities have received relatively little scholarly attention, and no comprehensive study of the female pantheon has been available.
